Nova Scotia Nominee Program Economic Stream - Settlement Agreement

The Province of Nova Scotia and the law firm of Branch MacMaster LLP reached an agreement to settle the class action brought to address issues surrounding the former Economic Stream of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program.

The agreement was approved by the court on Sept. 26, 2011.

Claim forms should be received at the Office of Immigration on or before the May 4, 2012, deadline unless you were located by the company International Genealogical Search (IGS) Inc. on behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia. In those cases, claimants may apply within 90 days after IGS located them and submitted their contact information to the Office of Immigration. Therefore, the date varies. If you are unsure when your deadline is, contact the claims administrator.

You may mail, fax, or email the claim as per the instructions on the form. It is the claimant's responsibility to ensure the form has reached the Office of Immigration by the deadline. You may wish to submit by registered mail or fax if you want to know when, or if, a claim has been delivered. Receipt of all claims will be acknowledged by email, usually within one or two business days.
